COMSERV (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, formed in 1985,
is part of the Rimbunan Hijau Group of
Companies and is a systems integration
specialist. The company’s head office is
located in Kuching and operates branches in
Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, with 70 employees,
the majority being in sales and
service/support positions.
Working
with clients from the Government and private
sector, the COMSERV Group of Companies
provides network infrastructure, software
and development work, training and
e-business solutions to organisations in
Sarawak.
“The
enterprise solution we offer to our
customers has be e-business enabled, have
worldwide major market share, be dynamic in
its product evolution, comprehensive in its
scope of offerings, integrated and produced
by a solid, and stable company that is
aggressive in its vision to grow the
business particularly in Sarawak,” says
Andre.
The
mySAP.com e-business platform was a clear
leader as “the company and the product
clearly share our values. The flexibility in
doing business with SAP Malaysia and the
sincerity of its people to do business with
COMSERV and its customers is something that
we appreciate,” he adds, explaining that
personal attention is a much valued
differentiator in Sarawak.
“One
of our latest wins is the KLSE-listed Kim
Hin Group which operates the only tile
manufacturing plant in Sarawak. This was a
deal that was won because of the level of
attention that we focused on the client.”
COMSERV,
together with SAP, spent the better part of
eight months evaluating the needs of Kim Hin
and making appropriate recommendations to
its senior management.
“This
is the kind of commitment that we undertake
on a regular basis as we believe in long
term relationships with our clients. “
says Andre.
“We
have a very strong track record for
reliability and innovative, cost-effective
and effective solutions in Sarawak,” Andre
adds.
“SAP’s
positive attitude, coupled with our
specialized and skilled workforce in COMSERV
and our ongoing growth offered us a
synergistic and winning proposition.”
“In
Sarawak, the business community may not be
as exposed to IT in general ... which leaves
us with the critical challenge of educating
them on the need for our solutions, and why
SAP’s solutions are the best for them,”
Andre says.
Kim
Hin is a clear example of this as “A
competing software provider from the
Peninsula was very interested in them and we
needed an edge to win Kim Hin over,” Andre
says.
The
edge came in the form of COMSERV’s local
presence, long-standing track record, local
touch and constant updates to Kim Hin.
“We
assigned people to their facility for a week
to really understand what their issues were
and how they worked. The fact that they
thought that SAP solutions were complex and
very difficult to use made it extremely
challenging. We needed to demonstrate that
mySAP solutions were simple to use and yet,
provides a collaborative e-business solution
that allows mission critical information to
flow seamlessly throughout the
enterprise,” recalls Andre.
The
efforts paid off as “our sincerity,
commitment and the innovation of the
mySAP.com solution put Kim Hin’s fears to
rest,” Andre says.
The
fact that SAP solutions are e-business
solutions that can last for decades and grow
with a company... this is something that no
one else can offer. We’re proud of this
fact and definitely look forward to helping
other organisations with their ebusiness
needs,” said Andre. |
